The charming game of seduction, whether it is between a man and a woman, a man and a man, a woman and a woman … and of course among couples, can not prescind from the encounter with the sense of taste and, someway, with the multi-faceted world of food.
it is a good habit in the first meetings between couples to share a drink, an appetizer, a pizza, a dinner, as food and seduction are indissolubly fastened.
So, as a good Italian couple, who particularly like to enjoy good food and good drink, we have undertaken a personal exploration of the world of food and wine that has turned out to be a fun metaphor to describe the sex appeal of the couples we have met.
A good start is always the PIZZA APPROACH: universal, easy, without much effort and not even pretentious: you always bring home some gratification.
The FIORENTINA APPROACH is no everybody’s business, basing on substance and quantity. You must quickly identify the bottom of the matter; then, you only have to discuss the willingness about.
This must not be confused with the STEAK AND POTATOES APPROACH, where the issue has to be very simple. Do call a spade a spade, do not mince words: if you all agree there is nothing else to add.
Should the meat be very lean, only accompanied by tuna and eggs, we have a PROTEIN APPROACH and the interlocutor might have narcissistic tendencies. The risk is that while sharing the food someone might remain fasting only to allow the full satisfaction of the other diners.
After so much meat, a bit of fish, and here is the SUSHI APPROACH: very cool! Just an exhibitionism? Well, maybe, but you know that the image makes the difference even if sometimes, unfortunately, at the expense of the substance (we never figured out if that masterpiece of seduction called finger food is fish, rice, or what… ).
To continue in the exotic atmosphere, the INDIAN FOOD APPROACH puts on the plate many spices that are great allies in changing the taste of the same food. Testing at this point is a must not to exceed the dosage and to find new exciting mix.
However, when the piquant taste prevails over all we are in the MEXICAN FOOD APPROACH. Chili becomes the only protagonist, crushing any attempt to put other flavours on the same table.
Maybe the FUSION APPROACH seems the most balanced: putting together the best from very different realities is a difficult operation, brilliant when successful. As hitting such a mark is hard, a good idea is sipping the quantity of ingredients.
To stay on topic of small quantities, the SALAD APPROACH is very light. With suspicious and reluctant attitude, the table companions remain on their own fearing some unpleasant flavours.
And finally the VEGAN APPROACH, rational and healthy. You share not for the pleasure itself, but according to a higher philosophical principle that makes us all feel equal parts of the same grand universe.
But not only of taste the food feeds, and you have to chase down your dinner with something if you do not want to choke! The choice at this point is the boundary between the world of slow-food and fast-food.
If you forward the mysterious plots that the SLOW APPROACH can weave, you can not help but enjoying good wine and letting yourselves slowly be intoxicated. The taste buds are gradually tickled and inhibitions are loosen … socializing and sharing with the other diners becomes simpler and more desirable.
However, if being in a hurry is typical, and the favourite motto is “all at once” you just have to jump into a FAST APPROACH, swallowing fast shots of whiskey, taking care not to stand the spirit on the taste buds, as they might be shocked. After repeating this operation a few times, you will be in the saddle and horses will be running free.
If diners have done the same, they will break loose, except for maybe having some doubts, the day after, on the route taken and the fellow travellers.
